Would it be possible to implement a requeue button (or link) for an unsifted video that would enable the poster to instantly requeue it? In order to requeue a video I need to go to my profile, unsifted video's and for each video, click "comments", then submit new comment that loads a new page in which I can type * requeue.

When I don't have much time on my hands and want to save my precious video's from getting discarded (which has happened too often since the latest patch reduced the discard timeout to 2 days), it takes quite some time to requeue 6 video's.

Thought it would be a nice idea to speed this up.

Hey all,

Since I received my gold status yesterday, I wanted to give my new powers a shot (after I discovered the *ban at least worked ) . So I decided to save a video I really like:

The video was posted 2 weeks ago, but got discarded due to lack of votes. Now, when I commented *save, Sifty notified me of my request, but the video was still discarded. Nothing happened and my *save period got reset to 4 days.

Any ideas on why this happens? Is it not possible to *save video's after they have been discarded for a certain amount of time? (which seems strange to me), or is the video already reposted, so it would produce a dupe in the queue?
To me it seems that if a *save fails, it should not reset the countdown.

An idea just popped into my mind for the Sift. Sift Talk posts sometimes contain ideas for improvements for the site, new ideas etc. I think it would be nice for the original poster to be able to add a voting system to the post so others can respond to the idea in a easy way. This voting system can be as simple (as in: easy ) as the video voting system (upvote and downvote).

The main trigger for me on this idea was rottenseed's Sift Talk post What to do with dupes" and a post I made a while ago myself Top15 video's bugged? in which the discussion pretty much ended in no results.

This way it is easy for the developers of the website to see how much support or demand a certain idea has.

Something I don't understand is the top15 sifted list. It's the second time a video of mine that made it to the videosift top 15 suddenly disappeared from that list. If I'm correct this list should contain the recent (uptil a certain posted-date) videos that have received the most votes.

My video (http://www.videosift.com/video/Giant-Vortex-box-Blow-out-a-candle-from-20-meters) made it through the sift 2 days and 8 hours ago, received 77 votes in that period, but it disappeared from the top15 (it was second place last time I checked, which was a few hours ago). There are video's that have made it through longer ago AND received less votes, and are still in the top15.

The same happened a few weeks ago with http://www.videosift.com/video/Homer-kills-the-Grim-Reaper, it suddenly disappeared.

Can anyone reveil the mystery of the top15 list?

Hey all,

Just a suggestion for an addition to the Sift that might be handy. I use videosift.com as a search engine in my Firefox Searchbar. Doing this yourself is quite easy, but I would have used it earlier if I'd thought of it before

So, my suggestion is to make a link somewhere on the mainpage that allows users to add the VideoSift search engine to their web browsers (maybe next to the search-field in the top-right corner).

Another suggestion to promote VideoSift a bit is by submitting the search-engine to mycroft.mozdev.org (http://mycroft.mozdev.org/submitos.html)

It seems alot of Youtube Simpsons movies are going dead because of a copyright-claim by Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation. Some of them can still be found on myspace, but many Youtube streams were deleted very recently
